HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAAY) - UAHuntsville police arrested a hockey player Monday and charged him with raping an 18-year-old woman.

Lasse Uusivirta is a junior from Espoo, Finland, according to the UAHuntsville hockey team's website.

WAAY-31 obtained an incident report from UAHuntsville police that indicates the alleged rape occurred Jan. 13 in the suspect's dorm room on John Wright Drive. At the time, the victim declined to press charges.

According to campus crime logs, she changed her mind and Uusivirta was arrested Monday.

"Information about an incident on campus came to the attention of university officials," UAHuntsville spokesman Ray Garner said in a statement. "The facts of the incident were immediately submitted to the university’s process. As a result of those procedures, punishment was administered to the student in accordance with established university policies and precedents.”
