Gadsden, AL - An Etowah County jury has convicted Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan of DUI.

The case has been ongoing since December of 2009, when Logan was arrested by Florence police on suspicion of DUI after police were called to a driver who ran into a mailbox. Investigators said at the time, Logan's blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. He was convicted on the charges in early 2010, but he successfully appealed the conviction and had the case moved out of the Shoals.

However, an Etowah County jury took little time in deciding Logan was guilty Thursday morning. He was taken into custody and sent back to the Lauderdale County Detention Center, to await sentencing.

Logan was formerly the Deputy Chief of Police in Florence before taking the job in Tuscumbia.
