Madison, AL - According to the Madison Police Department, Officer Efram Adams is charged with DUI.

The charge stems stems from a wreck on Old Railroad Bed Road February 12th. Adams was off duty at the time of the crash.

Adams is listed in stable condition at Huntsville Hospital.
 
Chief Larry Muncey says, “I thank God that Efrem is going to be okay. He is a fine man, great father and a good police officer. Unfortunately, if the allegations are true, his decisions will have a significant impact on his career. The Madison City Police Department is comprised of professional and dedicated officers, with tenacious desire to serve, and the citizens of Madison deserve nothing less. A complete and objective internal inquiry will be made into the circumstances surrounding the crash, once Efrem has been released from the hospital. Appropriate actions will be taken at that time if warranted.”
