Lauderdale County, AL - Alabama State Troopers are investigating a weekend accident that claimed the life of a Lauderdale County man.  The crash happened Saturday afternoon on Highway 72 about four miles west of Rogersville.

Investigators say 67-year-old James Thomas Campbell of Rogersville was killed when the 2008 Chevrolet Colorado he was driving was struck by a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 32-year-old Richard Ray Russell of Tuscumbia.

Russell was arrested on DUI charges and is being held in the Lauderdale County Jail.

A passenger in Campbell's car, Larree Campbell, was injured and taken to Huntsville Hospital.  A passenger in Russell's car, 24-year-old Misty Gatlin, was also hospitalized following the accident.
