Muscle Shoals, AL - A Colbert County Grand Jury has declined to continue a case against a University of North Alabama student-athlete.

The group passed a no bill on rape and sodomy charges that were pressed against 20 year old Corey Griffin back in September. At the time, a woman told police that Griffin sexually assaulted her after giving her a ride from Florence to Muscle Shoals.

“We presented it to the grand jury, but the grand jury didn’t think there was enough evidence to proceed forward with the case,” said Colbert County D.A. Bryce Graham Jr.

“The grand jury considered all the evidence and made the right decision,” said defense attorney William Hovater. “We are very satisfied the grand jury no-billed the case.”
