Athens, AL-A Limestone County family who lost their home last April because of the tornado got a special gift Monday morning. Habitat For Humanity and several other agencies are building a new house for the Harbin family in Athens. On April 27th the family's home was destroyed by the tornado. The new home will be built on the same spot where the former one once stood.

Storm survivor Barbara Harbin says she is very thankful for some many people coming together to build her a new home. "The good news is we are going to have brand new home and I am so thankful for that. You know you lose all your personal stuff like pictures But God brought us through it, if not for Him we would have never come out of it" Harbin says.

A group of student volunteers came all the way from Notre Dame College in Ohio to help with the construction. Student Aleisha Matsuura says she can't wait to begin
the work. "I love the work, I like learning how to saw and hammer. Most people think girls can't get their hands dirty but I love jumping in doing what I can" Matsuura said.
Her classmate Dena Ivancic says coming to Alabama to help the Harbin family makes her want to help others who have lost homes. "And it make me feel real good because its my first time doing it so I feel its a great way to start a new year" Ivancic said.

Construction workers will be using insulated foam instead of wood to build the walls. Concrete will be poured into spaces of the foam making the material strong enough to withstand a tornado. Construction on the new home begins this week.
