Child, Mother Hurt in Franklin Co. Fire

Hodges, AL - A 6 year old boy and his mother are being treated at UAB Hospital in Birmingham after suffering serious injuries in a Thursday morning fire.

According to our news partner, the Times Daily, Caiden Colburn and his mother Leah Colburn suffered burns to about 70% of their bodies.

The fire was reported around 1:00 a.m. at the Colburn's trailer on Holly Spring Church Road outside Hodges. Charles Colburn, Leah's husband, tried to put the fire out, but was unsuccessful. He escaped the trailer without serious injury. 

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
