Los Angeles, CA -
The Alabama Shakes are about to go big.
You may remember
WAAY 31 first reporting on the band from Limestone County two months ago, when Paste Magazine named them as the #2 best new band in America. Now, with a debut album about to be released, there is a major push to get the band heard around the country.
Since then, they've been featured on NPR and
Rolling Stone and the group's first single "
Hold On" has been in heavy rotation on several channels on Sirius/XM radio. Now the band will be making their national TV debut with
Conan O'Brien Tuesday night on TBS.
Meanwhile, the Alabama Shakes have announced three upcoming shows in their home state. In May, they'll be featured at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores along with major acts like Jack White, Dave Matthews and the Flaming Lips.
Before that, the group will be coming home for shows in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville (Crossroads, March 30th).
Conan airs at 10pm on TBS.
