"Live from Los Angeles, Shea Allen WAAY 31 First News."
Likely the coolest thing to say, EVER.
I don't know if I have shared this with you, but I am originally from L.A. I was born in Burbank and grew up in Glendale before I moved to Atlanta in 2000. My dad still lives in South Pasadena. It was odd to say the least to be back in this environment, doing what I love and dreamed of doing as a child.
Last night was a blur. It was one of the coolest experiences of my short life time. After getting glammed up, I headed to 20th Century Studios for the #SmileMovie premiere. Arrivals of actors and actresses (and about a billion agents) started around 6 o'clock. I set up in the reception area and started scanning the room for John Corbett, who had eluded me until then. He was hilarious, very tall and amazingly sincere about his gratitude for being involved in the film. He was wearing cowboy boots, which I thought was awesome. He also shared with me some of his favorite places in Huntsville; Cotton Row restaurant and the Voodoo Lounge. He attended the premiere with his beautiful girlfriend, Bo Derek.
I also snagged an interview with several of the youth actors from the movie. What was really amazing was that several of them, actor Tanner Dowe and Peter ten Brink. Tanner has Aspergers/high functioning Autism & Peter has down syndrome. Both were the sweetest, most unique people. I am honored to have met both of them. Tanner loves the spotlight and Peter, well Peter is quite the ladies man!
Actress Louise Linton is beautiful and so funny. We got along really well and compared the height of our heels. (Mine won, but not by much) She is from Scotland so I mocked her accent and she mocked my southern accent. She is a trip and I can't wait to see her again when she comes to Huntsville Friday for the premiere at the Space and Rocket Center.
All in all, I don't think I'll ever forget this trip to L.A. As some back in Huntsville have put it, I had WAAY too much fun!;) I'm headed to Santa Monica pier now to grab breakfast with my dad (the best looking man at last night's premiere) and then hopping a plane back to Nashville. Tomorrow I'll co-host the 4 o'clock show with Meridith Wood before being live from the Space and Rocket center tomorrow night.
Its not too late to get your tickets for the Huntsville premiere either.
CLICK HERE to reserve yours. Its the place to see and be seen in Huntsville Friday night.
