DECATUR, Ala (WAAY)-Morgan County sheriffs deputies arrested a man at his home Tuesday night after receiving a tip. And in the process they recovered a number of stolen guns.

A total of 12 guns including rifles and pistols and a bucket of ammunition was seized. 27 year old Johnathan Moore was arrested and charged with burglary and possessing firearms.

Sheriff Ana Franklin says the stolen weapons are connected to seven home burglary cases in Morgan County. "We are on alert, we are trying to put as many as these folks in jail where they need to be so their not out there victimizing any more people. So we are going to keep working, our guys are on top of their game and we are coming after them" Franklin said.

Franklin says the Somerville man is a convicted felon and is prohibited from owning guns.  "The last thing we want is felons and people having the potential to be dangerous who take advantage of innocent victims to have in their possession an arsenal of weapons".

Moore is also facing drug charges. Officers found several marijuana plants growing inside his residence.
