HUNTSVILLE Ala. (WAAY) - Christmas season kicked off in Huntsville Friday with Santa's arrival at Santa Village.

Santa Claus arrived in style carried through the streets of downtown Huntsville in a one horse open sleigh.

Mayor Tommy Battle welcomed Santa to the village and cut the ribbon for the season's grand opening.

Santa's Village will be open nightly through December 23rd.

"Its always exciting I mean Santa arrived by horse and carriage and we had the mayor here to welcome and greet him. Were so very lucky to have Santa here for this season." Volunteer Jan Dorning said.

New to Santa's Village this year, a Christmas light show called Santa's Magic Garden.
