HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAAY) - Police have identified a man killed last night on University Drive.

Huntsville police spokesman Harry Hobbs said Alphonso Holt, 63, was crossing University at Arctic Street around 6:20 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle going westbound.

The driver of the vehicle tried to swerve around Holt but wasn't able to, Hobbs said. The vehicle ended up hitting another vehicle going east on University.

Both drivers and a passenger in one of the vehicles were taken to Huntsville Hospital with minor injuries. Holt was pronounced dead at the scene.
