LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WAAY) - A New York man is in the Limestone County jail facing multiple charges of raping a 15-year-old girl.

Nicholas Paul Barner, 31, is charged with six counts of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree sodomy and one count of second-degree sexual abuse.

Court documents show Barner, of Auburn, N.Y., was indicted Dec. 6 and the warrant was served at the Limestone County Jail Dec. 12. His bond was set at $115,000.

Barner was initially arrested in June and returned to Athens from New York. He is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with the teenager. The Limestone County Department of Human Resources notified the Athens Police Department in late May of the suspected relationship between the two.
