RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. (WAAY) - Police say a man found with his estranged wife's body early Friday morning has been officially charged with murder.

Angel Campos Nava, 33, is still in Huntsville Hospital in guarded condition. He is charged with killing Lesley Hope Plott, 25.

Police say they found Plott's body in a ditch on North Jackson Avenue and Nava in a vehicle nearby with self-inflicted knife wounds.

Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said Plott and Nava had recently broken up and left Plott's mother's home shortly before Plott was killed.
