HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAAY) - Seven women are behind bars, charged with soliciting prostitution.

Huntsville Police and the Madison County Strategic Drug Team began a joint investigation into a local prostitution ring.  The arrests happened along Drake Avenue west of Triana Boulevard and near the intersection of Drake Avenue and Cobb Road.

30-year-old Rosemary Lemmond, 48-year-old Suzanne Hunt, 32-year-old Mellisa Robertson, 22-year-old Latasha Davis, 49-year-old Teresa Jackson, and 29-year-old Amanda Garrett all face charges of soliciting prostitution.  21-year-old Deana Johnson faces charges of soliciting prostitution, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Huntsville City Councilman Bill Kling commended the police detail for their thorough work in the Merrimack, Triana Village and

Holiday Homes neighborhoods.
