HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAAY) - Huntsville police said someone fired multiple gunshots at a home as children from a nearby school were leaving class for the day.

The shooting occurred around 2:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of Monticello Drive, near Montview Elementary School.

Huntsville Police Department spokesman Harry Hobbs said one person is being questioned, but no arrests have been made.

Police on the scene said someone fired more than 20 shots at a home, striking two vehicles and the house. Four people were in the home at the time, but police said no one was hit.

The shooting occurred just after students had left school for the day. Huntsville City Schools spokesman Keith Ward said school officials called students back inside and the school went on lockdown for about 30 minutes.

Police said the house that was shot at had been the site of a homicide in July. According to police, Brandon Pride and John Colvin tried to rob three men at the home July 15. One of the victims shot and killed Colvin.

Pride was arrested Aug. 15.
