Athens police obtain warrant for Raceway robbery

ATHENS Ala. (WAAY) - Police say they have obtained a robbery warrant in relation to a sunday morning gas station robbery.

Police are looking for John Robert Johnson III. They say he has lived in both Athens and Huntsville.

The robbery happened just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday at the Raceway on Highway 72 East. Police say the robber indicated he had a pistol and demanded money, but the clerk never saw a weapon.

Anyone with information on Johnson's whereabouts is asked to call Athens police at (256) 233-8700.
