Huntsville, AL - The Huntsville Police Department has begun accepting applications for its 52nd police academy.

Chie Mark Hudson says, “We anticipate starting the Academy this fall. The selection process is lengthy and requires
applicants to be thoroughly tested in multiple areas in order to be accepted into the Academy. Our Department is seeking men and women from all backgrounds who welcome a challenge and share our philosophy of community service.”

Basic Eligibility Requirements include:
• U.S. Citizen
• 20 years of age to apply, 21 years of age at time of academy graduation
• Valid driver’s license
• Graduated with a high school diploma or GED
• Pass interview board, drug screening, medical background and polygraph
• Military must have received an honorable discharge on DD214
