Huntsville, AL - Huntsville Police have released new information about Wednesday's chase around west Huntsville.
As we reported, the chase began around 2:20 p.m. when another driver called police to report a man in a red pickup truck driving recklessly. Police tracked down the truck and tried to stop him. The driver sped off, and led police on a chase for about 20 minutes. During the chase, the driver reportedly threw items out of the car, and rammed at least three police cruisers before finally being stopped near Drake and Patton.
Thursday morning, police identified the driver as 19 year old Dontrell Corlias Woods.
He's been charged with four counts of Attempted Murder, Attempting to Flee and Elude, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying a Pistol in a Vehicle Without a Permit and Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.
He's being held in the Madison County Jail awaiting bond.
