NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Predators want to turn two club-level sections of seats at the Sommet Center into an expensive suite.
The team pitched the idea to the Metro Nashville Sports Authority last month as a way to increase revenue by attracting "high net worth individuals" who can afford the $20,000-a-year seats.
The Tennessean reported Saturday that sports authority Vice Chairman Steve North said he's concerned that there's a trend in professional sports to price people out of the market.
The sections currently have 250 seats. After the proposed $200,000 renovation, the private club-type area would seat 130 and include food, beer and wine, flat-screen, high-definition TVs, a concierge and valet parking.
