Expect very similar conditions to what we experienced yesterday...a muggy start, areas of patchy fog, sunshine, and near-record temps. We won't get much in the way of a breeze to help cool us down...heat index values this afternoon will range from 95 to 100°.

Tuesday, the pattern begins to shift. We add scattered showers and storms back into the mix. They become much more widespread through the remainder of the work week. Temperatures become a bit more seasonable with highs in the mid-80s.

Once the clouds arrive, they stick around.  We are tapping into some Gulf moisture thanks to a system currently impacting Florida.  As it drifts westward along the Gulf Coast, we'll get some of the cast-off cloud cover but most importantly - the moisture from the Gulf.  This in combination with a cold front slowly scooting eastward into the Tennessee Valley will keep storms in the forecast through the weekend.
