WAAY 31 is looking for an aggressive journalist to help lead and grow our investigative unit.
We don’t shy away from any topic and we advocate for our viewers. It’s a great opportunity for an experienced GA reporter to expand his or her skill-set. You will also have the freedom to pursue stories/topics you are passionate about.
Candidates should be a member of IRE and how to use NICAR. You need to be a self-starter, able to dig through piles of documents, have a strong knowledge of our legal system and understand an investigation may take a month or it may take a day. You should also be fine ruffling some people’s feathers.
The investigative reporter is a position of leadership in our newsroom. The ideal candidate should act as a beacon of journalism and able to mentor younger reporters.
