Hired at WAAY: August 2012
Family and Pets: 3 brothers
Hobbies: Skiing, working out, and watching “Game Day” and college football all day long baby!
Alma Mater: Austin Peay State University
Most memorable interview or story: An Anniston man dying of AIDS let me chronicle the last few months of his life. We followed him during treatment and at home, and he would end each story by just talking to the camera. He was such a strong man and remained positive throughout. He also wanted us to cover his funeral. We did, but I couldn't go or read it on the air. He became such a dear friend, and I’ll never forget him.
Favorite musician: Sting
Favorite vacation spot: Puerto Rico
First TV appearance: right here at WAAY. I did a live shot from a business that was laying people off. Needless to say, they were not happy and had plenty to say.
Role Model: My mother Maria. She came to New York from Puerto Rico without knowing one word of English at 14. She studied hard and ended up getting a college scholarship, but she joined the Army instead. That’s where she met my dad. She was the only person I knew (besides Ken Jennings) who could answer any question on “Jeopardy.”
Your dream job: I always wanted to be a professional tennis player.
Why do you like working in Tennessee Valley and at WAAY-31: Everyone’s so nice…and it’s BEAUTIFUL here!
