Radon In Alabama

Updated:

ALABAMA- It's the second leading cause of lung cancer and you can t see it, smell it or taste it,  it's radon.

Radon is a naturally occuring gas that rises from ground. Eight counties in North Alabama are listed as zone one or highest occurrence areas.

Radon kills twenty-one-thousand Americans every year.

It is a gas and once that gas gets into our homes it's trapped and it has no way to get out. The only way to know if you have the gas in your home is to test the air.

You can do that with one of the radon testing kits. You can pick one up at your local alabama extension office.

To find out where your local office is, go to our website, waaytv.com and click on the seen on 31 link.
