Station Tour Guidelines

A WAAY-31 station tour is the first step in getting behind the scenes to see how a television station operates. We are proud to offer this program as part of our community efforts. A few things you should know before arranging a tour of WAAY-31:

  1. Tour groups should generally consist of at least five people but no larger than 25. Groups that have more than 25 attendees will have to sign a special waiver to gain access inside the facilities. Groups with more than 40 attendees are not allowed.
  2. We provide the tour experience for all ages. We recommend that children be at least 4 years old to understand and enjoy the elements of the tour. For station planning purposes, please schedule your tour at least one month in advance.
  3. Tours last approximately 31 minutes, and are conducted between 1pm and 3pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  4. Please contact WAAY-31 if your tour group is running late. If a tour begins more than 15 minutes late, a revised tour will be given.
  5. No tours are conducted during holidays.
  6. Groups containing attendees aged 21 and under must be chaperoned and supervised at all times.
  7. Please give at least 48 hours notice for cancellations.
  8. If a news or weather emergency arises, WAAY-31 reserves the right to cancel a tour. If a tour is canceled, WAAY-31 will gladly consider a make-up date.
  9. For safety purposes, no animals are allowed on the premises.
  10. Under no circumstances are alcohol, drugs, or firearms permitted on the grounds of WAAY-TV. WAAY-TV reserves the right to promptly alert the proper authorities if this rule is violated.
