MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A woman who collapsed and died after running in a benefit foot race in West Tennessee has been identified as a Missouri resident.
Memphis police say 32-year-old Molly Trauernicht of Wentzville, Mo., collapsed just after finishing the 13.1-mile half-marathon on Saturday. She was pronounced dead at Methodist University Hospital.
The Commercial Appeal says the county medical examiner hasn't ruled on the cause of death.
The race Web site says Trauernicht finished the race in 3:18:03, finishing 6,242nd among 6,815 runners in the half-marathon. The half-marathon and the St. Jude Memphis Marathon raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
