BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. (AP) - A historic 96-year-old property has been purchased by The Webb School in Bell Buckle.

The 1.18-acre property and 2 1/2-story home were purchased from Linda Key, who has owned the property since 1993. The purchase price was not disclosed.

According to the Shelbyville Times-Gazette, the property was once home to Shaker's Shocker, a grand champion Tennessee walking horse in 1966. The land is at the entrance to the school's campus.

Key is a former three-term mayor of the Bedford County town just off Interstate 24. She said she sold the home in order to move to Florida to be closer to her son and his family.

The Webb School, founded in 1870, is a private boarding school for grades 6-12.
