GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - Officials in Gadsden say three firefighters were injured when a floor collapsed into the basement of a burning home on Lookout Mountain.
Assistant Fire Chief Randy Smith said two firefighters suffered minor injuries and the condition of the third was not immediately determined after the Monday night fire. Snith says none of the injuries were life-threatening.
Smith says 12 firefighters fought the blaze, and that the home's residents escaped unharmed.
The Gadsden Times reports that homeowner Carroll Sickles says he was working on a car in a basement garage when a work light sparked some gasoline and ignited the fire.
