CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - A former medical examiner and pathologist in southeast Tennessee has been arrested on an indictment that accuses him of unlawfully distributing a controlled substance and fraudulently obtaining a prescription drug.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said on its Web site that agents arrested 50-year-old Ronald Toolsie. The former medical examiner in Bradley County was booked at the Hamilton County Jail and posted a $5,000 bond Wednesday.
A jailer said there is no record of Toolsie hiring an attorney.
A grand jury on Oct. 28 indicted Toolsie on charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, failure to keep required records of controlled substances and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.
Toolsie's medical license was suspended earlier this year.
