MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A Shelby County doctor has been arrested after he was charged with illegally issuing prescriptions for oxycodone, Lortab, and Xanax.
According to a news release from the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Tennessee, 57-year-old Daniel Fearnow has been charged in a 12-count indictment for conspiring to distribute controlled substances by writing prescriptions for drugs for no legitimate medical purpose.
The indictment was unsealed Friday and he was arrested.
The case resulted from a yearlong investigation by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
