NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - "Creative License," a new television special, will premiere Sunday on East Tennessee Public Television.
The one-hour show, and others to follow, are designed to illustrate how the arts are changing lives in Tennessee.
One program features a young man, from a tough inner city neighborhood in Memphis, speaking enthusiastically about his decision to study ballet. Another story focuses on an artist who paints with a computer even though she is paralyzed by Lou Gehrig's disease.
The shows are a collaboration between the Tennessee Arts Commission and the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tenn. Barry Scott, a playwright and actor, is host for the magazine-style show.
"Creative License" will eventually be made available to public television stations across the state.
