A shocking story of alleged child abuse from Franklin County, where prosecutors are pressing attempted murder charges against 23 year old Richard Agee Junior.

According to police reports, the man was baby sitting his girlfriend's 2 year old son when the boy suffered a serious head injury. The incident happened on September 27th at the boy's home on Washington Avenue in Russellville.

Emergency crews rushed to the home, and found the boy seriously hurt. He was rushed to Russellville Hospital, the flown to Huntsville Hospital and eventually rushed to Children's Hospital in Birmingham. He was released and went home on Friday.

Investigators say Agee claimed he didn't know what happened to the boy. However, doctors later told police that the injuries the boy suffered could have only happened from a violent shaking.

Agee is being held in the Franklin County jail without bond.
