Associated Press - October 1, 2009 10:15 AM ET

DREDSEN, Tenn. (AP) - A man suspected in a series of West Tennessee rapes made a brief court appearance in Dresden as his case was sent to a Weakley County grand jury.

Bruce Tuck of Gleason is charged in an assault in Martin in August.

He signed court documents at Wednesday's hearing.

WMC-TV reported that prosecutor Tommy Thomas said he expects "other matters" to be presented to the grand jury in early January.

Defense attorney Colin Johnson said he's concentrating only on the crime in which his client is charged.

Police are investigating at least two other rapes in Martin and two others in Shelby County.
