"Taylor's Law", an anti-bullying law passed earlier this year in Montgomery, goes into effect statewide on October 1st.
The law is designed to have a two fold effect : Reducing the number of irresponsible teens on the roads, while at the same time, hopefully cutting down on bullying and intimidation in schools around Alabama.
The idea is to punish students with poor disciple records by delaying the date they can get their driver's license. The more trouble they cause in school, the longer they have to wait.
The bill is named for a Muscle Shoals man who was killed by a speeing teenager in November of 2002. Police say the teen was drunk and blew through a stop sign.
