Franklin Co. TN Kidnapping Suspects Caught

Posted:

Police from multiple agencies have spent the early morning hours scouring a wooded area for two kidnapping suspects in Huntland, Tennessee.

Franklin County Sheriff Tim Fuller tells WAAY 31 that Huntland Police responded to a call at the Shell gas station around 6:00 Sunday night when two people told them they'd just escaped a kidnapping situation. The two were identified as young men from the New Market AL area. The victims pointed out a car in the gas station parking lot. When police approached the car, it took off. A brief chase followed.

The car stopped about a half mile away, near the Piggly Wiggly, and the two men inside disappeared into the woods. Investigators from the Huntland Police Department, and Sheriff's Deputies from Madison, Franklin, Moore and Lincoln Counties are helping in the search. Franklin County Sheriff Tim Fuller told WAAY 31 News that the rain and lightning hampered the search.
